Well, as the sun has set on 2006, I spent some time looking through the data on what got read the most on my blog last year. I'm always interested to see what topics are the most interesting to the folks that drop by here, and thought I'd share the top clicks in one place.
Here are the posts that bubbled to the top for the past year:
| Lifehack Reloaded: An ounce of prevention | This is the second year of strong popularity for this one - it's all about how I stay healthy in spite of heavy travel. All by quashing those nasty germs. |
| My GTD Odyssey - Parts 1, 2, 3, 4 | A four-part series talking about some of my breakthroughs, tools, and techniquest for David Allen's Getting Things Done methodology (GTD). This includes how I was ready to give up on GTD, and what got me back in the game. |
| Resources for learning the Theory of Constraints (TOC) Thinking Processes |
I'm pleasantly surprised to find out how active an interest there is in Goldratt's Theory of Constraints (TOC). This gets quite a few hits as a "starting point" for getting up to speed on TOC. Incidentally, I'm currently in the midst of a project where we're using TOC (to great effect) to identify root causes of IT availability issues. One of the challenges we had was finding software that made it easy to do TOC diagrams. While not designed for TOC, we've found that Inspiration v8 does a pretty good job of facilitating without getting in the way - and it's quite reasonably priced. |
| Don't be the crumply traveler | The perennial favorite for packing and traveling without wrinkling your clothes. |
| Outlook and GTD - Filing and Archiving Tips | An oldie but a goodie, apparently. My early sharing about how I file and archive email in Outlook. |
| Ashamed of our naked skins | The crisis facing our future generations: Learning isn't cool any more. Lots of traffic through here via the Talking Story post that started it off. |
| Where do you invest your 10% | Where do you focus your efforts for improving yourself? Find out what I found out about where the returns happen. |
| More tools before you fly | Helpful tools for the productive traveler. |
|
Travel light series |
A series of tips to help you travel without lots of bulk. I'm not a "minimalist" traveler - I don't want to be without my comforts. This is all about having those comforts without breaking your back while you travel. |
| I share because I want you to live | Skin cancer detection and prevention advice. I didn't die because I caught my malignant melanoma in time. I want you to know what to look for. I'm so glad this one is a popular post. |
| Presentation pet peeves | My personal version of what constitutes "death by Powerpoint." Enjoy. |
| Great tips on getting focused at work | My highest traffic from someone else's work! |
I've enjoyed sharing with you in the past year, and look forward to 2007! Thanks for stopping by, sharing your thoughts, and spreading the word.
