Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Xobni - a very interesting Outlook tool:

Okay Dwayne, it's official, you are the biggest software/productivity geek on the planet. You know I love your recommendations and listen intently, but I must admit being so grateful I dumped Outlook once and for all so I can just smile to myself, still admire your insatiable curiosity, but then know I can pass on something you rave about every so often!

I installed it last night and I've been wowed so far. You've highlighted all the features and I agree that they are useful and work well.

Have anyone seen a similar program for Mail.app?

Thanks - looks really interesting i will try it.

Have you ever used the Outlook add-in CategorieZ (http://www.software-solutions.co.nz/aladdins_co/alcoabout.asp)? I would be interetsed in your comments

Dwayne: Are you running ClearContext and Speed Filer with Xobni? I installed Xobni last night and, although it's an active add-on (verified in my Trust Center), it is not visible when I boot up Outlook. I'm not having much luck with new software these days! I'll have my IT folks take a look. Xobni says I should check for log files and send them to them for review. I'll keep you posted.

Yes, Michael - it's peacefully coexisting with ClearContext and SpeedFiler on my system. Sorry to hear you're having troubles.

Also, I found that part of my occasional slowdowns were due to the fact that both Xobni and Microsoft Desktop Search were indexing email items. If I tell MS Desktop Search not to index emails, things work fine.

UPDATE: Things are (magically?) working fine now (along with ClearContext and SpeedFiler). I shut down and started my laptop back up -- and voila' Xobni was there. I am LOVING it. Finding things was never this easy. Thanks for the response.

I installed Xobni last week & LOVED the stats (and was a bit surprised by some - very enlightening). However, I wish I had read the comment about disabling MS Desktop Search earlier - in my case, the performance hit from Xobni was so severe that I wound up uninstalling. I'll definitely try again...
